With disruptions caused by COVID-19, FIRST is adapting its safety and registration processes for all participants to accommodate the expanded program experience. For the 2021-2022 season, all Youth Team Members are required to have a parent/guardian complete the FIRST Consent and Release Form through the FIRST Youth Registration System. This is a requirement for participation in the FIRST season, including in-person or remote team meetings, events or competitions.
The regional team registration process is the same for both the Qualifying and State Tournaments. This process consists of 3 steps:
STEP 1: REGISTER NATIONALLY:
FIRST® as an organization has moved to a single sign on within the FIRST Website. All Team Registration for each program is handled through this FIRST Portal. FIRST registration is SEPARATE from the regional North Carolina team registration.

LOCAL QUALIFIER REGISTRATION WILL OPEN ON OCTOBER 5, 2022 AT 4:00PM.
The criteria below must be met before a team can register regionally:
  • Teams must be registered with NC FLL. 
  • Both team coaches must be screened.
  • The national FLL team registration must be paid.
  • The regional event must be open for registration.
  • Teams may register for a maximum of one(1) tournament per season.
Reminders:
  • Tournament slots fill quickly.  We suggest organizations with multiple teams split the load and recruit multiple people to register teams.  We cannot move teams around to accommodate large groups after registration.
  • Teams are permitted to sign up for ONE (1) tournament, only.  
  • All teams are required to provide a Team Volunteer (not the coach) to assist on the tournament day. 
  • Teams who qualify for the State Championship will advance based on the brackets listed.  If you have a preference of a Saturday vs. Sunday, please be sure to consider which bracket your team is registering for.

All payments will be made during the open regional registration period.
