Coaches, please check your email for the opt-in instructions.  The text line is for coaches and volunteers only.

Team Volunteers
All teams will be required to provide ONE Team Volunteer to participate on event.  All volunteers will receive an email with event day instructions.

We are transitioning TEAM CHECK-IN to a digital format for this weekend.  You will receive a separate email regarding the process. 

Note: Wristbands will not be required for pit access at the state championship.

Food and Beverage Policy: The Corbett Sports Center does NOT allow food from EXTERANL FOOD ESTABLISHMENTS (fast food, restaurants, pizza delivery, etc.) inside the facility. Teams may bring snacks or lunches from home.  Pre-order lunch is highly suggested.  

Team & Spectator WiFi Access - Not available.  Please plan accordingly.

Advancement, Awards Live Stream Link and Participation Materials

Regional & National Advancement and Awards
Each day of competition will operate like a separate event, with a 1st Place Champion and full award distribution.  However, regional and national advancement opportunities will be assessed state wide, and rankings will be cumulative involving all 90 state qualifying teams.  Only one team from North Carolina will be advancing to the World Festival. Three additional advancement opportunities are also available for top ranked teams.  

The teams advancing beyond this weekend will be announced during the Awards Ceremony on Sunday, January 22nd at 4:30pm.

Off Season Opportunities
Additional opportunities will be available for NC FIRST LEGO League Challenge teams to exhibit at various events between February - August.  Participation slots will be limited and all teams will receive an email invitation to represent NC FLL Challenge.  Slots will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Participation Materials
All teams, regardless of trophy status, will also receive their participation medals, participation certificates and judge feedback at the conclusion of the event. 


IMPORTANT NOTE!  Please make plans to stay until the end of the tournament, and pick up your team packets.  NC FLL Challenge will not be mailing unclaimed team packets this season.

COVID-19 Procedures
COVID precautions will be enforced.  All events will follow all guidelines set in place by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services as a baseline for safety precautions AND those required of events associated with FIRST and North Carolina A&T state University.  The current restrictions are available at  https://www.nc.gov/covid-19/staying-ahead-curve​ . 

Facility Use
Due to precautions in place regarding COVID-19, there are a few things that are different from normal in-person events.  Please observe the following rules:

  • Please do not bring any team members or coaches that have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days and/or are experiencing COVID-19 like symptoms.  This is for the health and safety of everyone attending, participating and volunteering.
  • Only Teams and Coaches will be permitted in the Pit Area. Wristbands are required. No parents, siblings or guests.
  • All hallways must remain clear.  Teams should consider the pit area or outdoor space as their gathering area.
  • Spectators, parents and siblings may sit in the stands and are not permitted on the floor in the competition area.
  • Pit Practice tables will not be utilized this season.  Team may bring their own mats and kits for practice purposes within the pit if desired.  Competition tables will be provided.
